East Meadow Scholar-Athletes

Nineteen teams from East Meadow High School and W.T. Clarke High School were honored by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association as Scholar-Athlete teams. To receive Scholar-Athlete recognition, the team’s average GPA for 75% of the roster must be greater than or equal to 90%.

Nine varsity teams from East Meadow High School were recognized as Scholar-Athlete teams. They were: boys cross-country, boys golf, boys volleyball, field hockey, girls cross-country, girls soccer, girls tennis, girls volleyball and girls swim.

Ten varsity teams from W.T. Clarke High School were recognized. They were: cheerleading, boys cross-country, girls cross-country, field hockey, football, boys golf, girls soccer, girls tennis, boys volleyball and girls volleyball.

“We are very proud of our teams for being honored as Scholar-Athletes,” said Kristi Detor, director of physical education, health and athletics for the district. “This recognition exhibits their commitment to hard work on and off the field.”
