It is with great sadness that the East Meadow School District announces the loss of beloved Parkway Elementary School security guard Mr. Andre. Andre previously worked for Summit Securities and was hired by the district in 2019 because of his dedication to the school and the meaningful relationships he formed with staff and students.

“Mr. Andre’s smile and kind heart will be greatly missed,” said Parkway Principal Jamie Mack. “We thank Mr. Andre for all he did for our Parkway community, students, and staff. We were blessed to have him as a member of our family!”

Mr. Andre was known for his kind and funny demeanor and always knew how to make everyone smile. He was more than a security guard; he ensured the safety of students while being a source of happiness for all.

“Mr. Andre was a source of positivity throughout the halls,” said Parkway teacher Aimee DePaulo. “He knew just what to say when you needed it and his smile lit up the classrooms. Mr. Andre was humble, quiet and kind. His presence will linger for years to come as he was irreplaceable.”

Mr. Andre is survived by his wife Shamika and 12-year-old daughter Tamia. Donations are being collected for the family during this difficult time. For further information, please contact Ms. Mack at
