Two East Meadow High School seniors have been recognized by the Heisman High School Scholarship program for their achievements on the field and in the classroom. Danielle Hippner, a member of the girls varsity basketball team, and Sean Kennedy, a member of the varsity baseball team, are the school’s winners for the 2019-20 academic year.

The program is an extension of the renowned collegiate Heisman Trophy award and has honored more than 600,000 student-athletes in the past 25 years. To qualify for the scholarship, students must maintain a 3.0 GPA, participate or have participated in specific athletics in grades 9, 10 or 11, and be a leader in the school community.

The East Meadow Union Free School District congratulates Danielle and Sean on their impressive accomplishments.
