Spring 2022 Program Information

The East Meadow UFSD is pleased to announce that our Spring driver education program will start the in early February. The links below contain important information related to the programs at W.T. Clarke High School and East Meadow High School. Please note that if you would like to enroll in the program that applications and payment are due on Thursday, January 20th.

Summary of Laboratory (in-vehicle) Instructions:

  • Students will drive and observe with their parents.


  • Students must complete a minimum of 24 hours laboratory (in-vehicle) instruction.

    Laboratory instruction must include:

    • a minimum of six (6) clock hours of actual behind-the-wheel driving and
    • a minimum of six (6) clock hours of in-car observation.
    • the remaining twelve (12) hours of laboratory instruction may include any combination of behind-the-wheel instruction or in-car observation


  • Students may not participate in more than 90 minutes of laboratory instruction per day.


  • Time for logs need to start on or after the first classroom session.


  • Parents/legal guardians or the driving school instructor will attest that their student is knowledgeable of, and proficient in a variety of essential skills.
