W.T. Clarke Swimmer Earns All-Division, All-County Honors

W.T. Clarke High School freshman April Chun is the first female swimmer to be a division champion in the history of the East Meadow School District.

April has qualified for the New York State Meet for in her two years as a competitor in the East Meadow School District.
W.T. Clarke High School freshman April Chun has achieved numerous feats in her two years as a competitor for the East Meadow School District’s swim team. April qualified for the New York State Meet both years, despite not having a state meet in the 2020-2021 school year.

A natural born competitor, April has exceled in all the events that she swims. This year, April earned All-Division and All-County honors. April was the Division C champ in the 500 free, which made her the first female swimmer to be a division champion. She also placed third at the Nassau County Swim Meet for the 500 free.

April qualified for the NYSPHSAA swimming championship meet. Two meets are running simultaneously this year, the NYS Meet and the NYS Federation Meet. The Federation Meet includes Catholic high schools. April finished in the top 30 for the 200 meters individual medley. In the 500 free, she placed seventh at the NYS Meet and 10th in the NYS Federation Meet with a time of 5:07.89. April is the first female swimmer in East Meadow history to place this high at the NYS Meet.
