Students throughout the East Meadow School District put on a festive musical performance during the board of education’s Dec. 8 board meeting.

Under the stage lights at W.T. Clarke High School’s auditorium, performances included the W.T. Clarke Flute Ensemble, directed by Jessica Shenker, W.T. Clarke High School’s chairwoman of music; the East Meadow High School Brass Ensemble, directed by Stephen Engle, East Meadow High School’s chairman of music; and the Woodland Middle School Acappella Choir, orchestrated by music teacher Jonathan Ross.

“As we move through the holiday season, and in the spirit of being thankful, we share our gratitude with our community through the gift of music,” said Kelly Gelfer, the district’s director of music and art. “We wish everyone a happy and healthy holiday season and a happy New Year.”

Parents, district residents and board members applauded students for their amazing performances.
