East Meadow High School senior Natalie Hernandez was named as a recipient of the 2022 Good Deed Awards for Long Island Teenagers demonstrating significant achievement, excellence, effectiveness and creativity, and serving as a positive and inspiring role model to her peers and the community. In October, Hernandez organized a schoolwide fundraiser for people to donate their hair to the nonprofit organization Children With Hair Loss. The event served as Hernandez's Girl Scout Gold Award project with Girl Scout Troop 1256. Honorees for this award are nominated by their educators, clergy, peers and/or community leaders. To qualify, candidates must demonstrate thoughtfulness, equality/social justice, integrity, honesty and responsibility. The East Meadow School District congratulates Hernandez on this outstanding accomplishment. Date Added: 4/12/2022
