Fourth graders in Mrs. Nayor’s class at Bowling Green Elementary School in East Meadow celebrated their cultural heritage on May 3.

The multicultural project, “Tracing Our Roots,” tasked students with crafting passports that featured their parents’ home country, continent and native language. Once the passports were complete, students placed the passports on a world map to share all the different countries from which their families came.

The project allowed students to celebrate their differences while also sharing and learning about other cultures.
