On March 1, the East Meadow High School Jazz Ensemble earned first place honors for their performance at the 2023 MADD Battle of the High School Jazz Bands.
During their performance at the NYCB Theatre at Westbury, saxophonists Sanjay Ramsaroop, Spencer Kemler, Matthew Tall, Dave Alavanza, Anthony Rodriguez and Benjamin Krieger received the award for “Best Saxophone Section.” The Jazz Ensemble’s victory earned the band a performance slot at the Northwell Health Theatre at Jones Beach on June 10.
