East Meadow School District among the nation’s best in music education

The East Meadow Free School District has once again been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The NAMM Foundation for the 17th year for its outstanding commitment to music education. The designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students.

East Meadow is among the 935 districts selected for this distinction. Now in its 26th year, the 2025 Best Communities for Music Education program has recognized hundreds of school districts and schools across the country for the outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders for their support of music education as part of a well-rounded education for all children.

The NAMM Foundation is a nonprofit supported in part by the National Association of Music Merchants and its approximately 10,300 members around the world. The foundation advances active participation in music making across the lifespan by supporting scientific research, philanthropic giving and public service programs. The district would like to acknowledge the collective efforts of our teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders who were instrumental in making music part of a well-rounded education for every child in the East Meadow school community.
