music students in classroom

Students across Nassau County enjoyed a vibrant, music-filled experience during East Meadow’s Summer Music Program, which ran from July 1-30.

Hosted at East Meadow High School, the program welcomed young musicians in grades 4-12 and performers of all levels to dive into a month of creativity, collaboration, and growth. Throughout the summer, students took part in a variety of ensembles such as orchestra, band, chorus, and musical theatre. Whether new to an instrument or experienced on stage, every participant had the chance to strengthen their skills, explore new repertoire, and learn from a dedicated team of passionate instructors.

In addition to music-making, students enjoyed a wide range of fun, community-building activities, featuring energetic assemblies, interactive workshops, and a spirited Spirit Week that brought color, excitement, and a strong sense of unity to the program. These special moments gave students the chance to connect with peers, express themselves, and make lasting memories beyond the rehearsal room.

The music program concluded with three incredible performances in which family, friends, and faculty gathered to celebrate all that the students had achieved. The concerts were a joyful showcase of the growth, creativity, and hard work that defined the summer.

The district would like to share a heartfelt thank you to all the students, families, and faculty who helped make this summer so special. The program’s instructors loved making music with all the students, and they hope to see everyone again next year for another unforgettable season of summer music at East Meadow!
