On Aug. 5, members of the East Meadow Fire Department visited students in the East Meadow School District’s Extended School Year program for their annual interactive presentation.
Students gathered in Bowling Green Elementary School’s cafeteria where the fire department members shared important skills in fire safety. They dressed in full uniform and gear to show how they look like when they arrive at a house fire. Students also toured an actual fire truck and firefighters demonstrated how to use a firehose. Members of the fire department received hugs, high fives and thank-you cards from students to show gratitude for their local firefighters.
The district would like to thank the local firefighters of East Meadow for taking time to educate the students on valuable fire safety and prevention rules.
