First graders at Bowling Green Elementary School in East Meadow were excited for the start of the 2025-26 school year.

On Sept. 3, administrators and teachers in the East Meadow School District officially welcomed students back for the start of the 2025-26 academic year. 

They were greeted with enthusiasm by students at all levels and spent the first day getting to know each other, catch up with familiar faces, and dive into new academic lessons. Additionally, Superintendent of Schools Kenneth Rosner visited schools throughout the district to greet teachers and students.

The opening week of school also featured plenty of smiles and excitement for the year ahead in the East Meadow school community.

Students and teachers at Parkway Elementary School also celebrated the start of the new school year. Kindergartners got back into the groove at George McVey Elementary School. Many of the classrooms at Bowling Green were decorated for the new school year. Students at Barnum Woods Elementary School enjoyed stories during the opening week of school.    Meadowbrook Elementary School students were excited to return to school. Students and teachers at Barnum Woods Elementary School were all smiles during the first week of school.  McVey’s kindergartners were eager to begin their educational journeys.  There were several decorations throughout Parkway during the first week of school. Students at McVey enjoyed gym class during the first week of school.
