On Oct. 1, Woodland Middle School in East Meadow kicked off National Bullying Prevention Month by celebrating their designation as a No Place for Hate School.

District administrators, member of the Board of Education, teachers and Woodland’s principals filled the main lobby during a special ceremony as students unveiled their No Place for Hate gold star status banner and a pledge display, which signified unity throughout the school community. Woodland Middle School’s musicians also provided music during the ceremony.

Throughout the 2024-2025 school year, Woodland’s students participated in numerous character building and antibullying assemblies in addition to lessons and discussions organized by the school’s counselors. Additionally, Woodland’s peers at East Meadow High School have also hosted discussions on the importance of antibullying.

At the end of the ceremony, students and teachers recited the No Place for Hate pledge.
