East Meadow students chosen to perform in NYSSMA’s All-State Festival

ive students in the East Meadow School District have been recognized by the New York State School Music Association for their outstanding musical talents and chosen to perform in the All-State Festival at NYSSMA’s annual Winter Conference, to be held Dec. 4-7 in Rochester, New York. Additionally, two students were also named as alternates.

To qualify, students had to receive a score between 98 and 100 on their solo performance, judged by a NYSSMA All-State adjudicator.

From East Meadow High School, Caleb Roy has been selected to perform in the Symphonic Band on bassoon, Michael Bodzin has been selected to perform in the Instrumental Jazz ensemble on jazz drum set, and Jaiden Webman has been selected to perform in the Modern Band Showcase on alto saxophone. From W.T. Clarke High School, Connie Dong has been selected to perform in the Symphony Orchestra on violin, and Charlotte Huang has been selected to perform in the Treble Chorus on alto 1.

This year’s alternates are East Meadow High School students Kailyn Kim (flute) and Sofiia Nosarieva (jazz tenor saxophone), and W.T. Clarke High School students Corven Cillo (violin), Charlotte Huang (euphonium) and Kaiden Mayers (bass 2).

The district congratulates this year’s NYSSMA All-State musicians.
