On Oct. 22, W.T. Clarke Middle School in East Meadow continued the district’s recognition of National Bullying Prevention Month with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate their designation as a No Place for Hate School.
District administrators, teachers and the middle school’s Principal Ms. Elizabeth Dowling and Assistant Principal Ms. Linda Lynch gathered in the Little Theatre during a special ceremony as students from the NPFH Committee assisted in the unveiling of their No Place for Hate sign, which signified a new chapter of acceptance, respect and unity throughout the school community.
W.T. Clarke earned their No Place for Hate distinction during the 2024-2025 school year in which the NPFH Committee facilitated numerous lessons and initiatives on antibullying. Prior to the ribbon-cutting ceremony, MLB agent Mark Leinweaver spoke to students during numerous assemblies, offering guidance on social media dangers, bravery, volunteering and antibullying leadership. He also served as the keynote speaker for Clarke’s ribbon-cutting ceremony.
