The East Meadow Board of Education recognized several student-athletes throughout the district during its Dec. 3 board meeting at the Salisbury School. Many of the district’s student-athletes were recognized for earning All-County honors or greater during the fall sports season.

“Your accomplishments speak to your talent, determination and leadership,” said Jason Supple, the district’s director of physical education, health & athletics. “Being named an All-County student-athlete is a tremendous achievement. It requires discipline, hard work and sacrifice. You’ve made your families, coaches, teammates and the entire East Meadow school community incredibly proud.”

Earning All-County honors or greater represents hours of hard work, countless practices, and a level of commitment that goes above and beyond. East Meadow’s student-athletes have not only demonstrated excellence on the field, but have also shown tremendous character, serving as role models for their peers and members of the school community. Additionally, Mr. Supple noted that 19 of the high schools’ fall sports teams earned the Scholar Athlete team distinction. To receive this honor, the GPA of the top 75 percent of the roster must be 90 or above.

“This reflects the tremendous dedication both on the field and in the classroom,” Mr. Supple said. “Everyone in the East Meadow school community should feel incredibly proud of these student-athletes.”
