Sweet scents and holiday cheer filled the air on Dec. 19 as students of all ages at George McVey Elementary School in East Meadow celebrated the school’s annual Cookiefest.
The beloved tradition brought the school community together for a day of creativity, laughter and delicious fun. Throughout the day, classes from each grade level gathered in the cafeteria, which transformed into a cheerful cookie workshop. Coordinated by the McVey PTA, students rolled up their sleeves to decorate gingerbread cookies using colorful icing, sprinkles and candy canes — each creation as unique as its baker.
McVey’s annual Cookiefest helped students embrace the holiday spirit while enjoying a hands-on activity that blended imagination with teamwork, making the annual event a sweet success once again.
