On Jan. 29, George McVey Elementary School’s gymnasium in East Meadow transformed into a prehistoric playground as students took part in the school’s Dinosaurs Rock assembly.
Dinosaurs Rock presenter Bradley Chernoff captivated students with an interactive showcase featuring real fossils, bones and dinosaur eggs. For more than two decades, Dinosaurs Rock has brought museum-quality exhibits to schools across the tri-state area, giving students a hands-on look at ancient history.
During the assembly, students examined dinosaur heads, held fossilized eggs and compared their own height to the massive leg bone of a dinosaur. The experience continued with an exciting dino dig, where students uncovered and kept their own artifacts to take home.
