Calling all artists

The East Meadow School District is excited to announce its inaugural Character Education Pillar Design Contest. Calling all K-12 students to showcase their creativity by designing original symbols and illustrations for the Six Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship.

This initiative is part of the district’s Character Education Plan, which supports a school culture centered around kindness, empathy, inclusion, and responsible citizenship.

Contest Details:

  • Open to: All K-12 students across the district

  • Create: Original artwork representing each of the Six Pillars

  • Mediums accepted: Traditional or digital art – be bold, bright, and imaginative!

  • Deadline: March 6th

  • Submission must include: Name, grade, and school

The winning design will be featured in official district publications and promotional materials, proudly representing the heart of East Meadow’s commitment to character education. The winner will also receive a gift basket and East Meadow swag in recognition of their contribution to our school community’s values.

The contest supports the district’s mission to “bring out the best in everyone” by integrating character education into academics, assemblies, art, social-emotional learning, and extracurriculars.

We encourage all families, students, and educators to participate and celebrate the powerful connection between character and creativity. Let’s bring our pillars to life!
