Students in Ms. Sara Sheikhlar’s class at Bowling Green Elementary School in East Meadow celebrated a special milestone with a joyful Book Publishing Party held on March 2.
Joined by their families, as well as Principal Ms. Maria Ciarametaro and Assistant Principals Ms. Jaime Assortato and Ms. Antoinette Nichols, students proudly marked the completion of their class book, “Our Small Moments.” The book highlights the class’s many achievements, memories, and experiences throughout the 2025-26 school year.
Published through StudentTreasures, the project gave students the opportunity to become real authors and see their ideas brought to life in print. To make the celebration even more memorable, Ms. Sheikhlar transformed the classroom into a festive event space complete with a red carpet for photos. Students beamed with pride as they posed with their books and shared the moment with their families.
Following the celebration, students and parents participated in a special book signing, exchanging messages and signatures in each other’s copies — just like professional authors. The event was a meaningful way to honor students’ hard work, creativity, and growth throughout the year, and a reminder that even the smallest moments can become lasting memories.
