From April 21-23, East Meadow High School’s two Virtual Enterprise classes proudly capped off an outstanding year of entrepreneurship by attending and competing at the Virtual Enterprise Youth Business Summit and International Trade Show at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City.

Throughout the school year, both student-run companies; LOC8 and All Around the World; participated in multiple regional trade shows and business competitions, gaining valuable experience in marketing, sales, networking, and professional communication while competing against schools from across the region. At the Summit, students once again showcased their innovation, professionalism, and business skills while engaging with other teams from around the world and learning firsthand about real-world entrepreneurship.

LOC8 made district history this year by advancing through the highly competitive New York/New England region, qualifying for the State competition, and then earning a spot at Nationals, where they finished Top 25 in the nation in the Business Plan and Presentation competition; the first time East Meadow UFSD has ever had a team reach this level of success. Congratulations to team members Evalia Levin (CEO), Amber Chan (COO), Olivia Barnwell (CTO), Laila Miranda (CMO), and Eli Gilkey (Banking Manager) for this remarkable achievement. Additionally, LOC8 brought home two bronze plaques at the International Trade Show for Sales Pitch and Booth Design.

CEOs Evalia Levin and Keerat Minhas represented their companies in the Individual Sales Pitch Competition with confidence and professionalism, helping make this year’s Youth Business Summit a truly memorable milestone for East Meadow schools.
