The East Meadow School District is proud to celebrate W.T. Clarke Middle School student Janinne Bautista for her outstanding achievement at the 2026 New York State History Day competition.
Janinne earned third place in the statewide contest, a significant accomplishment that reflects months of research, preparation and dedication. She received news of her placement while traveling home from the competition. Although a third-place finish does not automatically qualify a student for the National History Day competition, Janinne remains eligible to advance should a first- or second-place winner be unable to attend. Janinne devoted countless hours to developing her History Day project, demonstrating a strong commitment to academic excellence and historical inquiry. Her success at the state level highlights both her hard work and passion for learning.
The East Meadow School District congratulates Janinne on this impressive achievement and commends her for representing W.T. Howard Middle School with pride. Her participation in New York State History Day provided a valuable educational experience and serves as an inspiration to her peers.
