Woodland Middle School’s Jets Connect program in East Meadow proudly hosted its annual Stuff A Bus event on June 4, collecting essential items for families served by the Ronald McDonald House in New Hyde Park.
The Ronald McDonald House provides comfort, care, and temporary housing for families who must travel to receive lifesaving medical treatment for their children. Through the annual service project, Woodland students and staff came together to support these families by donating much-needed household and personal care items. As part of the event, students formed a human chain stretching from the donation room and out to the front entrance to a waiting bus. Working together, students passed hundreds of donated items hand-to-hand, demonstrating teamwork, compassion, and community spirit.
Following the collection, student volunteers traveled to the Ronald McDonald House in New Hyde Park to personally deliver the donations. During their visit, students toured the facility and learned firsthand about the organization’s mission and the impact their contributions have on families facing difficult medical challenges.
