On June 24, eighth grade students at Woodland Middle School in East Meadow commemorated the culmination of their middle school years during the school’s moving-up ceremony held at the Salisbury School.
Surrounded by family, friends, faculty and staff, students reflected on their achievements and looked ahead to the exciting opportunities that await them in high school. Members of the Board of Education, district administration and Superintendent of Schools Kenneth Rosner joined in celebrating this important milestone and applauded the students for their dedication and accomplishments throughout their time at Woodland. Principal Kristi Detor delivered remarks that encouraged students to embrace new experiences, pursue their goals and continue making a positive impact in their school community.
During the ceremony, Ms. Detor presented a variety of academic awards recognizing students for their hard work, leadership and commitment to excellence. The district congratulates the members of the eighth-grade class and wishes them continued success as they begin the next chapter of their educational journey at East Meadow High School.
