On a bright, sunny afternoon Oct. 3, East Meadow High School and the surrounding community came together to celebrate homecoming with a spirited parade and football game against Farmingdale High School.
The festivities began at Veteran’s Memorial Park, where the East Meadow High School Jets marching band set the tone for an afternoon filled with music, school spirit and community pride. Led by the marching band, school administrators, Board of Education members, faculty and students made their way through the neighborhood toward East Meadow High School as community members lined the route to cheer them on.
Adding to the excitement, this year’s parade floats showcased Disney Pixar-themed designs inspired by different countries around the world. Students riding aboard the floats delighted spectators by tossing treats to supporters along the parade route. Members of the homecoming court were also escorted throughout the parade, followed by performances and appearances from the high school’s cheerleading and kickline teams.
Once the parade reached the high school, the celebration continued with performances by the Jets marching band, cheerleaders and kickline team. The festivities reached a special moment during halftime, when this year’s homecoming king and queen were crowned.
The East Meadow Jets then took the field for a hard-fought matchup against Farmingdale High School. Despite a determined effort, the Jets fell to Farmingdale, 21-14.
While the final score did not go East Meadow’s way, the pride and enthusiasm surrounding the team, school and community were unmistakable throughout the day. The district extends its sincere thanks to the students, families, supporters, administrators, faculty and community members who came together to make the 2026 homecoming celebration a memorable one.
