W.T. Clarke Middle School’s National Junior Honor Society chapter in the East Meadow School District has been named a 2026 Chapter of Distinction, a national recognition honoring chapters that demonstrate strong leadership, sound operations and a deep commitment to the pillars of the Honor Society.

The Chapters of Distinction program recognizes NJHS chapters that meet all of the organization’s Essential Standards and excel in key areas, including student governance and leadership development. The distinction recognizes chapters that provide meaningful opportunities for students to grow as leaders while making a positive impact on their school and community.

The National Junior Honor Society recognizes outstanding middle school students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, service, leadership, character and citizenship. Through their participation in NJHS, students are encouraged to put these values into action through service, leadership opportunities and contributions to their school and community.

The W.T. Clarke Middle School NJHS chapter’s 2026 recognition reflects the dedication of its student members and advisers to these principles. Through a variety of activities and initiatives, NJHS members have opportunities to strengthen their leadership skills, serve others and demonstrate the values of the Honor Society.
