The Bowling Green Elementary School community in East Meadow had double the reason to celebrate on Oct. 5, as students, staff and district leaders gathered to officially unveil two newly renovated playgrounds.

The school held not one, but two ribbon-cutting ceremonies — one for the new playground on the east side of the building and another on the west side. Students, Principal Maria Ciarametaro, Assistant Principals Jaime Assortato and Antoinette Nichols, teachers, district administrators and members of the Student Council were on hand to mark the exciting occasion.

With plenty of smiles and school spirit, students and teachers proudly counted down together before the ribbons were cut, officially opening both playgrounds for play. The excitement was hard to contain as students got their first look at the updated spaces and new equipment.

And the adults weren’t about to let the students have all the fun! PTA members and district administrators volunteered to be the first to test out the new playground equipment, proving that playground fun has no age limit.

The two new playgrounds provide Bowling Green students with refreshed spaces to play, explore, get active and make memories with their classmates. The ribbon-cutting ceremonies were a wonderful way for the entire school community to come together and celebrate these exciting additions to the school.
