East Meadow Graduate Earns First Place in Worldwide Tech Competition

The East Meadow School District is proud to announce that East Meadow High School graduate Tristan Pesqueira won first place in the 2022 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship.

Pesqueira, who earned first place in the category of Microsoft PowerPoint (Microsoft 365 Apps and Office 2019), won a $7,000 cash prize presented by Certiport and Microsoft. He competed with more than one million contestants worldwide to showcase his skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, culminating in the most popular technology skills competition on Microsoft Office. To enter the competition, students took a qualifying Microsoft Office Specialist certification exam to demonstrate their mastery of Microsoft Office technology. Regional competitions were held worldwide, and 95 finalists qualified to compete in the final round of the competition held in Anaheim, California from July 24-27. To qualify for the world competition, Pesqueira won the National competition which was held in Dallas, Texas in June.
