East Meadow’s Board Members Honored for Commitment and Devotion

The East Meadow School District celebrated School Board Recognition Week at their monthly meeting on Oct. 12.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kenneth A. Card Jr., expressed his gratitude for the dedication of each member of the board on behalf of the entire community. Dr. Card presented each board member with a book, “The Speed of Trust,” by Stephen M. R. Covey as a thank you for their support.

“The East Meadow School District is joining all public school districts across the state to celebrate School Board Recognition Week, by honoring the board members for their commitment to East Meadow and its children,” Dr. Card said. “It takes strong schools to build a strong community, and our board members devote countless hours to making sure our schools are helping every child learn at a high level.”

Director of Music and Art Kelly Nixon and Art Department Chairperson Heather Anastasio then gifted each member with an original photograph. The photos were taken by W.T. Clarke High School students in Mrs. Marlena Dentrone’s advanced photography class.

“We thank you for your service to the East Meadow community and we hope you enjoy each of your individual pieces,” Ms. Nixon said.

The district wishes to thank all of the board members for their dedication to the community.
