Sophomores and Juniors from East Meadow High School attended a college and career readiness seminar through the Academy of Finance (AOF). The day began with a virtual visit from our recent AOF alumni currently attending college and in-person visit from our AOF college graduates. Students had the opportunity to ask about college classes, dorm life, and the importance of taking business classes during high school. The alumni emphasized how the industry specific classes they took through East Meadow had given them advanced standing in college and transferrable skills that could be applied to all their college classes which allowed them to be better prepared for their post-secondary education. Students then attended a resume workshop where they received one-on-one assistance in creating their resumes. It was a wonderful opportunity for our Academy of Finance members to chart their paths to success for both high school and beyond.
