Congrats to the East Meadow Varsity Cheerleading team on advancing to the quarter finals at the National Championship in Orlando Florida.



EMHS participates in PS I Love You Day by wearing purple and complying an in class activity that will promote kindness, love and compassion. The building will display the students words of encouragement in the coming weeks.







On February 7th, a group of 11th grade students attended The Human Rights Awareness Conference at Adelphi University hosted by Nassau County Division of Human Rights. During the conference, students and faculty attended various workshops and interacted with students and staff from other high schools in Nassau County. The workshops covered many relevant issues pertaining to the county and more greatly the world today.



East Meadow High School has received a generous donation of gardening supplies from Covanta to provide students in Mrs. Fitzpatrick’s Greenhouse Studies course with everything they need to learn about Horticulture. This growing partnership with Covanta has allowed for the start of some unique and wonderful learning opportunities that has the potential to extend beyond the classroom. Their donation includes seedling growing racks, hydroponic tower growing systems, outdoor tumbler and composters, shovels/rakes, and much more. East Meadow HS would like to extend their gratitude and thanks to Covanta and look forward to continuing their partnership together to provide our students with these amazing, hands-on learning experiences.


The EMHS community collected 1,236 children's books for Hindi's Libraries, a non-profit that donates them to homeless shelters and medical clinics in low-income communities. Thank you Kshan Pandey for spearheading this initiative and also collecting over 400 books from libraries across Nassau County.



The Academy of Finance hosts members of the East Meadow Chamber of Commerce who spoke about interviewing skills with East Meadow High School students. Previously the Academy of Finance ran a resume workshop. In March the Chamber will return to EMHS and conduct mock interviews. Thank you to Mrs. Woisin and Mrs. McIntosh for all their hard work to make today happen.





The EMHS Math team competes at the Nassau County Math Tournament.


Business and Technology Honor Society celebrated their new members at the induction ceremony last night at Salisbury. Congratulations to all new members.







The guidance department hosted their quarter 2 New Student Party, where groups worked together to build the highest tower given random supplies. Winners won an East Meadow T-shirt. Over 70 new students attended.



A tremendous turnout for Grade 11 College Planning Night featuring the insightful speaker Rick Gatteau from Stony Brook. Empowering futures and fostering success!



The JV cheerleading team took the first-place win on Sunday at Oceanside high school. The first win of the season and their highest score yet!


On Tuesday, January 23rd our Key Club President, Mahira Ahmed, and Vice President, Geneva Bhagroo, ran the weekly East Meadow Kiwanis Club Meeting at the Grand Stage Diner. They did an excellent job showing off their extroverted personalities and professionalism. This is just the beginning of their leadership journeys!



Varsity Cheerleading took first place yesterday at Cold Spring Harbor winning by 4 points. This win keeps East Meadow Cheerleading 2nd overall in their division, making them a strong contender to keep an eye on as we close out the season and move toward counties.

Congratulations to the Girls Bowling team on their 11-0 win over Clarke High School. The team was led by Junior Amanda Morris who bowled a 656 series with games of 209, 222 and 225. Katelyn Haubrick also had a big day for the Jets with a 446 series. The team finished in second place in the conference with a record of 9 and 3. Amanda Morris finished the season with a 216 average which was the top average in Nassau County.

Capturing the bright illumination of a magnesium ribbon in a bunsen burner, students explore the chemical reaction between magnesium and oxygen.


The boys varsity basketball team defeated conference rival Great Neck South 72 to 60 to remain undefeated in the conference...Mazim Ibrahem led the Jets with 22 points while Isaiah Perkins added 18 points and Will Casseus had 15 points, 12 of which were scored in the 4th quarter to help secure the Jets victory...Nick DeStefano, Izaiah Richards, Joe Steinmark and Harry Haber also had significant offensive and defensive contributions in the Jets victory...The Jets play Valley Stream Central tonight at 7PM at East Meadow High School

East Meadow High School students and staff were greeted by the award winning band, led by director Steve Engle, to holiday tunes this morning as they entered the school. Today is the last day of school before the vacation.





The East Meadow Jets wrestling team continues their hot start to the season. The Jets took 2nd place in the team standings at the Commack Classic Tournament yesterday with 11 place-winners including 6 finalists and 2 champions! Matthew Rodriguez and Joe Arbitello took 1st place, Nico Rodriguez, James Galiano, Brady Hohlman and Paramveer Samra took 2nd place, Matt Motamedian and Alexander Lengu took 3rd place, Will Tucker and Andrei Suditu took 4th place, and Kyle Francis took 5th place.
A special congratulations to Matthew Rodriguez. With his win in the finals, Matt has achieved 100 career varsity wins! As a team captain he is setting a great example on and off the mat and making the program proud! Keep up the great work Jets!



In a wild game between East Meadow and Hempstead HS, the boys varsity basketball team defeated Hempstead 68-65 led by Will Cassius 30 points…Brendan Cronin had 17 points and Mazin Ibrahem added 12 points…Zain Amjad clutch free throw with 18 seconds left secured the win for the Jets…The Jets begin league play next Tuesday at Valley Stream Central at 7PM…The Jets next home game is next Thursday against Long Beach at 5PM…Come support your Jets!!!!
