East Meadow High School celebrates 22 students at the Breakfast of Champions awards ceremony.








Decorator’s Corner Edible Art workshop... East Meadow High School students created beautiful fantasy flowers made out of wafer paper. They cut out pedals and sculpted them by adding a touch of water. Edible wafer paper is made out of potato starch, vegetable oil and water. Students had so much fun creating beautiful flowers all from edible materials!






The Ethnic Awareness Club presents the Multicultural Show to East Meadow High School.

EMHS College Business Law students visit Nassau County Criminal Court. Students took a tour, and got to see a trial.


Congratulations to the DECA club for competing at NY DECA State Competition last week. We're happy to report that out of 20 students from EMHS competing, Megha David, Adrian Klin, Annabel Yee, Anvi Bonanthaya, and Sarah Kandathil all made top ten in their categories.

Girls Basketball wins the Long Island Championship. East Meadow 51 Westhampton 46







Last Friday, the students enjoyed a wonderful and exciting Battle of the Classes. Between popping balloons, running through an obstacle course, and buddy walking their way to the finish line the seniors won the night in a very close race to the juniors. Fun was had by all!







The East Meadow Track and Field Team would like to congratulate three athletes on their immense achievements at the State Championship meet on Saturday. Katelyn Coffey who qualified for back-to-back state meets as a sophomore. Anaya Hall who won All-State and All-Federation honors on the Intersectional Relay and Zara Hall who emerged with double All-State and All-Federation medals in both the 1000 meter and 1500 meter races. Incredible performances from our girls!

Nassau County Champions... the East Meadow Girls Basketball team wins the Counties 69-66



The Journalism class traveled to Adelphi University on Feb. 16 to meet with other high school journalists and participate in the annual Quill Writing Competition. Maggie Li and Leya Skaria walked away with recognition for sports writing and photography.



On February 15th, the East Meadow ASL Honor Society invited the elementary school students in the district to East Meadow HS to learn ASL in our first ever ASL clinic. The event was a resounding success, with over 30 enthusiastic elementary students participating. The honor society students demonstrated exceptional dedication and creativity in designing engaging activities for the attendees to practice their newfound ASL skills. Witnessing the excitement and eagerness of the elementary students as they learned and shared their signs with family and friends was truly heartwarming. The overwhelming positive feedback from parents and students alike, expressing a desire for future events, highlighted the significance of the evening. Encouraged by this enthusiastic response, we are excited to start planning another ASL clinic in the Spring, eager to continue fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for ASL education and appreciation.







This past weekend was a historic one for the East Meadow Jets wrestling program. Matthew Rodriquez wrestled in the New York State Wrestling Championship Tournament after winning the Nassau County Championships last weekend. Matt won his first three matches in commanding fashion and became the first New York State finalist from East Meadow in 34 years. Matt finished second in NYS in his weight class for all Division 1 schools, the first All-State wrestler for East Meadow in seven years as well.
Matt had an excellent tournament, season, and career with the Jets. The school could not be more proud of him. Congratulations for everything you have accomplished representing East Meadow and setting a perfect example of what it means to be Jet on and off the mat. Great job Matt Rod!

Congratulations to Adrian Klin for recording a perfect score on the Microsoft Office Specialist Exam. Adrian is a senior in Mr. Kasin's Computer Literacy class. This could qualify Adrian to represent East Meadow in the yearly Microsoft National Convention in June.


Congratulation to the following basketball players: Nick DeStefano and Mazin Ibrahem - All County Basketball. Izaiah Richards and Will Cassseus - All Conference Basketball. All of the student athletes are in 11th grade. Look out next year...

Congratulations to Senior Anthony Merrow and Junior Erik Rich for qualifying for the Nassau County All Star team which will compete in the New York State Tournament in Syracuse. Merrow bowled a 6 game series of 1,329 for an average of 221, and Rich bowled a 6 game series of 1,281 for an average of 213.


The East Meadow Track and Field Team competed in the County Championships this past week, returning home with 11 All-County athletes and 1 County Champ across the boys and girls teams: With great pride we congratulate Aiden Augustyn, Justin Berkowitz, Christopher O’Brien, John Turnbull, Aaron Schlectman, Jaelyn Zabala, Leah Schleicher, Cameron Gilmor, Marla Hogarth-Pierre, Katelyn Coffey, Anaya Hall, and County Champ Zaria Hall.

The East Meadow Boys Bowling Team finished up their season by placing 2nd in the Nassau County Team Tournament on Saturday. The bowlers , led by Anthony Merrow and Erik Rich, were runners up in the County Tournament. Ethan Frances, Trey Enriquez, Andrew Dungca and Nathan Rose all contributed to the outstanding performance this past Saturday. Outstanding job JETS!
