
The boys bowling team defeated the Hicksville Comets yesterday 11-0. Trey Enriquez led the Jets with a 661 series, bowling games of 224 and 227. All County Bowler Erik Rich continued his All County pace with a 623 series; bowling games of 231 and 235. Ethan Frances also kept his hot streak going, bowling a 618 series: with games of 209 and 215. Ryan Collins also chipped in with a 202 in game 2. The Jets take on Bellmore on Thursday for first place in the county.

This past Friday, the boys varsity basketball team beat St. John’s the Baptist by a score of 62 to 44…Isiah Perkins had 13 points and Nick DeStefano had 15 points and 13 rebounds. On Sunday, the boys defeated Portledge 73-59…East Meadow was led by Izaiah Richards 15 points and 11 rebounds, Nick DeStefano was the Jets high scorer with 20 points…The Jets next home game is Tuesday against Academy Charter at 6:30…Come support your Jets!

The boys bowling team continued its dominance on the lanes yesterday sweeping Uniondale 11-0. 8th Grader Angelo Dungca led the Jets with a 709 series and coming within one pin of a perfect game, bowling a 299 in game 1. He also bowled a 221 in game 2. Trey Enriquez kept his hot streak going, bowling a 621 series with a 213 in game 1 and a 224 in game 2. Erik Rich bowled a 207 in game 2. The Jets are currently in 1st Place in the conference and rank 2nd in the county.

The EMHS band performed in the main lobby this morning. Students and staff alike enjoyed the holidays sounds as they arrived at school today. Always a great morning when the East Meadow musicians are playing.




The Boys Bowling Team continued its dominance on the lanes by sweeping Clarke yesterday 11-0. The Jets entire lineup excelled yesterday in the rout. Angelo Duncga had a 741 series with games of 246, 247, and 248. Nate Rose had a 637 series with games of 226 and 234. Erik Rich had a 629 series, bowling a 241 in game 1. Ethan Frank also had a 629 series, bowling a 245 in game 2. Andrew Dungca had a 621 series; bowling a 235 in game 3. Trey Enriquez also kept his hot streak going bowling a 214 in game 1. Congratulations to the Jets on maintaining their hold on the number 1 ranking in the county.

East Meadow Boys Bowling kept it's hold on first place vs the Bellmore District on Tuesday with a 6-5 win. 9th grader Angelo Duncgca led the Jets with a 713 series, bowling games of 277 and 242. Nate Rose continued his tremendous bowling with a 622 series: bowling games of 220 and 237. Trey Enriquez contributed with a 615 series; bowling games of 212 and 223. The Jets are currently ranked number one in the County. Their next match is today vs the Rams from Clarke.

JV cheerleading is having some fun this week leading up to the Holiday Break with themed practice-group costumes!





Last night the Boys Varsity Basketball Team defeated Syosset 89-48. The Jets were led by Mazin Ibrahem's 20 points along with Will Casseus and Nick DeStefano both adding 18 points. Isiah Perkins and Izaiah Richards added jaw dropping dunks to capture the spirit of the victory and electrify the crowd. The Jets are home again this Wednesday night at 7pm against conference rival Port Washington. Come down and support your Jets!!!!

East Meadow Model of Congress competed in Long Beach this weekend with best speaker awards being won by Michael Zych and Tyler Malone. Honorable mention won by Arnav Laul, Alexander Perfield, Sophia Alvarado, Meagan McKevitt and William Morales. Commendations were given to Sarah Sharma and Noelia Correia and Michael Lynch received a commendation in the Senate as well. Keep up the good work everyone!

The JV cheerleaders had a great time being in the same session as our Varsity team and their support brought some extra luck as JV came in first place for the second week in a row!


A big congratulations are in order for our Varsity Jet Cheerleading team who made program history Sunday night by winning their division in both traditional and game day to secure a bid to the National Competition in February in Orlando, Florida. Way to go ladies!


The EMHS Business Department is happy to share that the EMHS DECA members had an impressive showing at the Regional competition December 14th at Plainview-Old Bethpage HS. We will have approximately 50 students competing at the State level in March in Rochester - double our numbers from last year 🙂. We wish our students luck as they prepare for the NYS competition.

Nate Rose also was outstanding with a 675 series - bowling games of 206, 242, and 227. Ethan Frank also kept his hot streak going with a 663 series, bowling games of 209,229, and 225. Angelo Dungca contributed with games of 203 and 221. Andrew Dungca bowled a 246 in game 1, and Trey Enriquez bowled a 201 in game 1.

Congratulations to Allison Twible, she scored her 1,000th career point at MacArthur High School last night. Twible becomes just the 3rd girl at EMHS to school 1000 points.




The AP Government classes went to LIU to do a Presidential Foreign policy simulation.

The varsity boys basketball team defeated Uniondale 58-57 in double overtime on a Nick DeStefano game winning layup with under 12 seconds left…Nick was named the Player of the Game with 12 points and 15 rebounds…Mazin Ibrahem added 18 points and had 7 of his points in overtime…The Varsity Jets head to Herricks today for a game at 7PM and Wednesday the Varsity Jets will head to St John’s the Baptist where they will play Holy Trinity at 5PM…Come support your Jets!!!

Congratulations to Dave Alavanza, Josh Amy, Daniel Persaud, and Ria Savan for participating in the New York All State Music Festival this weekend. These four students represented East Meadow High School in the All State Concert Band, Treble Choir, and Mixed Choir. During this intensive weekend, these students participated in 8 hours of rehearsal per day, performing with the top achieving music students from all over New York State. The weekend culminated in world class level performances at the esteemed Eastman school of music Kodak Theater under the direction of renowned conductors. Congratulations to Dave, Josh, Dan, and Ria!

It was a great day to be a jet this past weekend, as the Varsity cheerleaders placed first at their first competition of the season at Farmingdale High School. We wish them luck as they attempt to get a bid to the National Competition in Orlando, Florida.
