The girls varsity soccer team improved their record to 7-1 with a friday night win over Great Neck North. Rachel Nasshorn and Charli Tesoriere led the Jets with 2 goals and 1 assist each along with Ella Giordano scoring a goal as well. Goalies Jennah Farooki and Ava Matthews had 3 saves in total, support the Jets on Tuesday at home for Senior Day against Valley Stream Central at 5:00 PM!

Congratulations to the JV field hockey team on a competitive win against Seaford. The girls were down 1-0 in the first quarter but that didn't stop them from making a comeback and scoring two goals to make it 2-1. Goals scored by Samantha Platkin with an assist by Sakeena Raza. The other goal was scored by Addison Finn. Ariana Rosa had 3 outstanding saves for the Jets. Great job by all. Wish us luck today as we head to Baldwin High School for another competitive game!!!

A big congratulations to the girl's field hockey team on their win yesterday against Oyster Bay. The game concluded 1 to 0 with a goal scored by Gianna Ventura, assisted by Lila Kies. A big shoutout goes to the defensive line for being the backbone of the game! The Jets hope to continue their undefeated season with a current record of 5-0. Next up on Friday, they take on their biggest challenge yet, the Seaford Vikings.

The East Meadow Jets secured a solid 5-2 victory over Long Beach in a well-played soccer match. Goals came from Dylan Wauchope, Nick Acosta, Jose Flores, and Colin Smith, with assists from Andrew Velasquez and Dylan Wauchope. David Flores anchored the defense, leading a strong backline performance that helped control the game. It was a total team effort, with the Jets showing both offensive firepower and defensive resilience.

The East Meadow Varsity Boys Soccer team secured a dominant 4-1 victory over the MacArthur Generals. Leading the charge, Dayton Wauchope and Dylan Wauchope each netted two goals, with Dylan adding an assist to his impressive performance. Andrew Velasquez contributed a key assist as well. On the defensive end, goalkeeper Matthew Rivas stood tall with 10 crucial saves, helping East Meadow control the game and come out on top. The team’s combined offensive and defensive efforts ensured a well-rounded win.

For the first time, all performing music ensembles at EMHS participated in the NYSSMA Major Organization Festival. The students were required to prepare a program of specific material and perform for a panel of judges. Each then received feedback and a score. The ensembles received top ratings ranging from Silver to Gold With Distinction. Congratulations to all for your hard work and a job well done!

This past weekend two students from our tenth-grade class, Thomas Primrose and Maya Provitera attended the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Seminar at Adelphi University. They were selected through an interview process to represent East Meadow High School as our ambassador earlier this year. We hope that they will take all that they learned this weekend and make great change in our EMHS Community.

On June 3rd, the Social Studies Honor Society hosted a “Faculty Feud” where departments from English, Science, Social Studies, Special Ed, World Language and Guidance competed against one another for fun and to raise money for the honor society.
