On Saturday, November 22nd, select students from Meadowbrook attended the Nassau County Music Educators Association PEAK Festival with one of our music teachers, Ms. Waters! These students were nominated and selected from students across Nassau County. PEAK (Parents, Educators, and Kids) is a great way to get our parents involved in the musical activities our students participate in every day at school! Our first grade students read many folktales and fables as part of a CKLA unit. As a culminating activity, the students traveled around the world learning facts about different countries that these stories originated from! ✈️🌎😊 @emeadowschools

Our 2nd graders learned all about Tall Tales and characters such as Paul Bunyan, Pecos Bill, John Henry, and Casey Jones. Our students made swirling tornadoes 🌪️ and even had visits from the characters themselves! @emeadowschools 💙💛

5th Grade students investigated how shadows change direction & size by tracing their own shadows at 3 different times of day. Working in groups, they observed patterns, analyzed their findings, & applied their new understanding in a fun way by playing Shadow Tag! @emeadowschools
