In October, we recognize National Bullying Prevention Month. This week is our UNITY Spirit Week. We are kicking off tomorrow with the theme "Bullying is Bad, Wear your Plaid!" We hope to see everyone participate in all our themes this week!!
Sixth grade students did a great job on their culture projects in social studies. Thorough research, computer and design skills, and confidence in public speaking were all on display!
Our Theater workshop students are having so much fun going through mock auditions and receiving constructive feedback from peers and teachers!

Students are currently shopping at our Scholastic Book Fair proudly sponsored by our PTA. The book fair will run on October 8th, 9th, and 10th. There's something for everyone - books filled with adventure, science, comedy, mystery, and even cookbooks. It's a great opportunity for students to explore new interests and build a love of reading!
The Peer Helpers embarked on their annual leadership retreat to Project Adventure at Nassau BOCES. Students participated in a series of team-building activities and a high ropes course led by instructors. These experiences helped students explore the qualities of effective leaders and practice strategies for guiding and supporting others. Students worked together to ensure everyone had a challenging and unforgettable experience—putting their leadership skills into action.

Woodland is so proud to celebrate our status as a Gold Star No Place for Hate School for 2024-2025! As part of our morning on Wednesday, we also embraced this year's pledge and made a commitment to achieving Gold Star again this year!
We were so happy to have students from EMHS visit our 6th graders today to teach lessons on character and lead a team-building activity! We can't wait to have them back soon!!
