March is Music in our Schools Month! Students and staff had a fantastic time celebrating with a music-inspired spirit week, highlighting a variety of genres including rock & roll, jazz & blues, and country. We learned how music ties us all together!










Mrs. Pellegrino’s Recycling Club showed their creativity with their very own Caine’s Arcade! Inspired by the viral YouTube video, they designed & built unique arcade games from cardboard. This Caine’s Arcade Challenge brought smiles & fun for both the players & the creators!










Mrs Gonzalez’s 5th grade class partnered up with Mrs. Lanzieri and Mrs. Pelo’s first graders for an afternoon of book buddies!






Mrs. Lasher’s first graders were full of excitement as their PARP guest reader read The Book with No Pictures by B.J.

Mrs. Confessore & Ms. Koch’s 5th grade students became environmental advocates by creating public service announcement posters about water pollution. Through research and creativity, they explored the causes & effects on ecosystems, wildlife, and human health.




Barnum Woods students put their skills to the test and had a great time doing so at the East Meadow District’s Annual STEAM Night!





These 3rd graders in Ms. Carra and Ms. Kulikowski’s class had so much fun working on this “Lucky Charms” fractions activity! It was a lucky-looking day at Barnum Woods as students brightened the school with a splash of green on March 17th!


Barnum Woods loves celebrating the Irish traditions this time of year with sweet songs on the bagpipes! Thank you to Mr. Wisniewski , a long-time Barnum parent and friend, for visiting our school! We enjoyed listening to you play such beautiful Irish tunes on the bagpipes!






Our fifth-grade students attended Woodland’s preview of “Seussical, the Musical”! The teachers were proud to see many of their former Barnum students dancing and singing on stage. It was an amazing performance by all, and the audience enjoyed this entertaining event!

To end our first week of PARP, Lee Knight, who brings “Books Alive”, performed her Sports Olympics Show for our Pre-K - 5 students, celebrating legendary athletes with songs and stories! Students had fun participating in this exciting assembly!

Students in Mrs. Keicher & Ms. Iovieno's class had so much fun acting out the book, "The Great Race". All of the 2nd grade students will be going on a field trip soon to the Tilles Center to see this story come to life in a play! @emeadowschools




Students in Ms. Guglielmo’s library classes have been learning all about the winter Olympic games! They started off learning about the history of the Olympics and the Olympic rings along with the locations in Italy where the events were being held. Students also chose a winter Olympic sporting event to research about using both print and online resources! They were able to learn about history, current athletes, and the dynamics of each sport.





March 2nd is National Read Across America Day! In honor of this day, students showed their patriotic spirit wearing America's colors of red, white, and blue, and brought their favorite books from home to share with their classmates!





Students and staff at Barnum Woods proudly showed their support for P.S. I Love You Day by wearing purple and clothing featuring messages of love and kindness. Throughout the day and continuing all month long, classes engaged in meaningful lessons and discussions about being a good friend, spreading kindness, and reminding one another that no one is ever alone.


This week was the Barnum Woods 2nd Annual Cereal Box Challenge! The Barnum K-Kids hosted their Cereal Box Kindness Drive to donate boxes of cereal to local pantries. Before the cereal was donated, the K-Kids created a domino chain of cereal boxes throughout the halls and gym!! The students and staff had so much fun watching them fall!!!










Our 5th graders had a sneak peek at middle school life visiting Woodland Middle School! They had the opportunity to meet amazing Woodland teachers, tour the halls and classrooms, and experience the excitement of this next chapter in their educational journey! @emeadowschools





It was Cozy Vibes Day at Barnum!! These kindergarten students in Ms. Chionchio's class brought their best cozy vibes to school as they snuggled up, relaxed, and were dreaming big while learning in style! ❄️💙☃️
