Mrs. Hoefer's Grade 5 Quest students experienced hands-on laboratories as they used microscopes to analyze fibers when they visited the Dolan DNA Learning Center today!




Another successful PARP week ended with "PARP Guest Reader Day" today! The students had so much fun dressing to different themes this week and reading their favorite books with their friends! Thank you to all of our guest readers and to our PTA for a great two weeks of PARP!

Happy St. Patrick's Day from the "Barnum Irish McBobcats"! Thank you to Mr. Wisniewski, a parent of one of our 5th grade students, for playing such beautiful Irish tunes on the bagpipes for the whole school to enjoy! We loved listening to you play for us!





The Barnum Woods students are showing their school spirit during PARP week! They are dressing in each day's themes, expanding their imaginations and knowledge by reading various genres, and completing the PARP activities created by the amazing Barnum PTA!







The Barnum BOBCATS were not the ONLY CATS roaming our halls today! Dr. Seuss’ CAT IN THE HAT and James Dean & Eric Litwin’s PETE THE CAT surprised the students with a fun-filled visit! The children were thrilled to listen to stories read by these famous cats! Thank you, BWPTA!










The Barnum Bobcats TREASURE the time they have reading with each other and are having so much fun celebrating PARP Week! From fantasy lands to wild adventures, books take you on journeys and to worlds of imagination!





MS. RIVERA'S AMAZING CEREAL BOX BOOK PROJECTS!
Students proudly presented their creative "One and Only Ivan" cereal box projects to their classmates in Ms. Rivera's fourth grade class today. This assignment was a fun and imaginative way to showcase the students' understanding of the beloved novel. Each student transformed a cereal box into a unique visual representation of the story, incorporating key themes, characters, and moments from the book. During their presentations, students shared the inspiration behind their designs, explaining how they captured the essence of the story and the characters, while highlighting the lessons they had learned. The project not only illustrates their artistic talents but also their deep connection to the book’s messages of friendship, courage, and hope.




It was another amazing STEAM Night for all in the East Meadow Schools! These Barnum students had so much fun taking on the “Parachute Challenge” and creating “Butterfly Chromatography”! Thank you to all of the students, parents, & teachers for making STEAM Night such a success!





PARP is in full swing at Barnum Woods! This year’s theme is Treasure your Time with Books. At Barnum, we are a treasure chest of unique, multicultural gems! Students celebrated their unique cultures, customs, & traditions by wearing attire representing these special cultures.






Abracadabra!! It was a MAGICAL time for students as they experienced and participated in magic, illusion, comedy, and music! The Magic Amore Assembly intertwined all of this amazing magic with a message of the value of books, reading, and libraries! Thank you to our BWPTA!











The Barnum K-Kids, led by Mrs. Schiller, are spreading KINDNESS as they "chalked the walk" along the Barnum Woods School building! This random act of kindness was much appreciated by teachers, staff, students, and the community, putting a cheerful smile on everyone's face!








Our Barnum Bobcats raised over $20,000 for our school in the PTA's Boosterthon Fundraiser! Mrs. Sagnelli was a great sport as she was the recipient of a PIE IN THE FACE from the student in each grade who raised the most money for our school! Thank you again to our PTA!

Our 5th graders had a sneak peek at middle school life today visiting Woodland Middle School! They had the opportunity to meet some of the amazing Woodland teachers, tour the halls and classrooms, and experience the excitement of this next chapter in their educational journey!




It was a sea of purple as the Barnum Woods students and staff showed their support for P.S. I Love You Day! Being kind, listening to others, and making someone’s day brighter were just some of the great discussions and lessons taught today and throughout the month of February! 💜


The Barnum Woods PTA is thrilled to share and celebrate the great success of our first ever Boosterthon fundraiser! Students collected donations throughout the weeks and then participated in the Glow Run finale which had all of them smiling and having a great time!











Mrs. Hughes’ Yoga Club is in full swing and has students smiling and having fun! Yoga helps with concentration, flexibility, and balance! These students are doing a great job with all of these skills and always look forward to their yoga club sessions!





Barnum Woods Cereal Box Challenge! The Barnum K-Kids hosted a Cereal Box Kindness Drive to donate boxes of cereal to local pantries. The K-Kids created a domino chain of cereal boxes throughout the halls and had so much fun watching them fall!
