The first grade classes had a great time at the Tilles Center on their field trip to see the show, "Ada Twist, Scientist", based on a children's book about a curious, young girl who loves science and using the scientific method to solve everyday mysteries! @emeadowschools
Mrs. Pelo & Mrs. Lanzieri's 1st grade class had so much fun learning about different techniques of art on their field trip to the Nassau County Museum of Art in Roslyn.
Mrs. Keicher & Ms. Iovieno's 2nd grade class worked in partners to build bridges in STEM class, led by Mrs. Hodge. What a fun way for children to learn hands-on about weight and gravity! @emeadowschools #STEM

This year, at Barnum Woods, Mrs. Black, School Counselor, facilitated the Beautiful Me program to 5th grade girls. Beautiful Me is an educational, self-esteem program designed to help increase body awareness, improve problem solving skills, and to build healthy relationships. We were lucky to have 39 girls who participated! The girls in all 3 groups had a wonderful time learning about themselves and how to think positively about themselves and others. Our last session consisted of making Compliment Boxes, and each girl was presented with a necklace from the Hance Foundation, marking the end of the program with a hope they will remember what they learned in Beautiful Me and continue to show strength and confidence.
Fifth graders brought their kindergarten buddies’ visions to life! Working together, these 5th graders transformed their kindergarten buddies’ drawings into beautiful, creative balloons to celebrate an early Thanksgiving. Together, they proudly paraded through the halls!
The second graders in Mrs. Vicino’s class used the writing process to draft and publish paragraphs about what they are thankful for. This activity helped the students practice gratitude and sharpen their writing skills. @emeadowschools
The second graders in Mrs. Vicino’s class are enjoying hands-on math to add 2-digit numbers. They used base-ten blocks to exchange ones for a ten when regrouping. @emeadowschools
Everyone was so excited to have Corey the Dribbler back at Barnum today! Corey is not only entertaining with his amazing basketball skills and tricks, but his enthusiasm and positive messages are an inspirational to all! Thank you, BW PTA, for another incredible assembly!
Mrs. Keicher and Ms. Iovieno's 2nd graders were so excited to share their Ancient Greek narratives that they wrote when Mrs. Sagnelli came to their classroom for a visit! They read Pandora’s Box and opened their own Pandora's Box together! @emeadowschools
Students in grades Pre-K through 5th had a blast during the Boosterthon Fun Run with Nate the Great and Bobcat Bryce! Everyone participated in this exciting fundraiser for our school! Thank you to the BW PTA for organizing and sponsoring this awesome event! @emeadowschools
