The EMHS Theatre Guild presented the play Chicago to the students and faculty. This was a teaser in preparation for the main event this weekend. The actors and actresses were absolutely outstanding. Students and staff alike were blown away by the performance.

LOCATE has advanced to the International Round of Finalists representing the New York and New England Region in the "Business Plan Competition".

East Meadow Varsity softball beat Herricks 16-0 Grace Moone pitched a complete game striking out 8. Numerous Jets had multiple hits: Gabi Shepherd, Gianna Ventura, Natalie Necci and Arian Rosa all had hits for the jets. The Jets made 0 Errors in the game. Emma smith hit a home run in her first varsity at bat. The jets are back in action today away at Hicksville.
Congratulations to our District Varsity Flag Football Team on starting the season 2-0 with two wins over the weekend against Roosevelt and Long Beach. Alyssa Cohen, Kaitlyn Cohen, Shanti Sturdivant all had touchdowns.
Congratulations to EMHS Junior Softball Captain Gabi Shepherd on being selected as one of Newsday’s top 100 softball players for the second year! We are so proud.
The Boys Lacrosse team opened up the season yesterday with a win over Bellmore JFK 10-2. The Jets were led by Noah Garners 4 Goals. Thomas Primrose and Bradley Lukasik both had 2 goals and an assist each. Grady Blind added a goal and assist, and Christian Petrancosta had a goal. Great defense was played by Ben Barbara, Steven Ricotta, and Antonio Ribeiro. Jack Alvy and Matt Laico did a great job in the net.

New 12 Scholar Athlete of the Week...
Emily Zheng is an All-Conference and All-County racewalker. She competed at the state championship, the Nike Indoor National Championships and the New Balance Outdoor Nationals. She competes in every racewalk, including the 5000 meters. She's founded the Dentistry Club and also interned for two local dentists and wants to pursue a career as an orthodontist. She also established "School The World: East Meadow", a club that donates school supplies and raised money to help build libraries for Central American students. She is the salutatorian with a 98 unweighted GPA. She's also a National Merit Commended Scholar.

Mr. Kasin’s Business Law class took a trip to the Nassau County Supreme Court today. What a wonderful experience.
Incredible results from the New York State DECA Conference in Rochester this weekend. Out of 54 students from EMHS competing in DECA, 17 State awards were won. The follow students cashed in: Sarahi Sharma, Marcus Chiu, Ali Levinsohn, Brendan Salomon, Vivienne Martin, Joshua Chan, Rayan Ahmed, Amber Chan, Evalia Levin, Annabel Yee, Anvi Bonanthaya & Minyoung Kim.
Also, Ali Levinsohn, Annabel Yee, Anvi Bonanthaya and Minyoung Kim all advanced to the International competition next month in Atlanta, GA.

A big congratulations goes to the Jet Gazette and Maddy Reger for winning Honorable Mention for her photograph at the annual Press Day Quill Awards. Also, congratulations to Felita Binu, Angel Mathew, Emil Navarrete, Nursi Nusaiba, Rhianna Rendon, Sabrina Rosenberg and Emily Sugrim for winning second place for their feature story “Schools in the 21st Century” also at the Quill Awards.
Ms. Luciano's education class celebrated Valentine's Day and the 100th day of school with kindergartners at McVey elementary school.
Congratulations to Nathan Rose for a great afternoon of bowling. He placed in the top 10 in the County at the Nassau County Bowling Championships yesterday earning him All County. Nate had a six game average of just under 200.

In front of a packed house last night, the Boys Varsity basketball team rallied back from a 14 point deficit to win in an overtime thriller 88-82 against Oceanside…Lorenz Labuguen 3 pointer put the Jets ahead for good in overtime…A great team effort all around. The boys play Saturday at Academy Charter at 11:45…Come out and support your Jets!!!!!

Both companies, “ALL AROUND THE WORLD" led by CEO Keerat Minhas and "LOC8" led by CEO Evalia Levin are advancing to the semifinals round for the National Business Plan competition. Both Companies National Business Plans are now ranked in the top 50 in New York/New England region.
