Celebrating International Week at Barnum! Our students were excited to share their native languages on the morning announcements by teaching everyone how to say certain phrases, such as "Good Morning" and "Have a Great Day! Some of the languages we learned were Spanish, Chinese, Urdu, Russian, and Crimean Tatar! We love celebrating the cultures and languages that make our community shine!

Barnum Woods School was filled with red, white, and blue spirit as students and staff gathered to celebrate Flag Day! The celebration was a wonderful way to honor our American flag and everything it stands for. Mr. Schaefer and the 5th Grade Band members played a beautiful rendition of our National Anthem. Mrs. Hughes and her Brioso proudly sang some of our favorite patriotic songs, filling the air with excitement and pride.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was watching the color guard raise the flag with great care and respect as the entire school looked on. Everyone joined together to recite the Pledge of Allegiance and learn more about the meaning of the American flag, its history, and the values of freedom, courage, and unity it represents.
The smiles, singing, and sense of community made the event especially memorable. It was a joyful celebration that reminded us how proud we are to be Americans and how important it is to honor the symbols and traditions that bring us together. Flag Day at Barnum Woods was truly a star-spangled success!

What a great day celebrating our amazing 5th graders at the Annual 5th Grade BBQ on the back lawn of Barnum Woods! Students enjoyed food, fun, and the DJ, of course, making wonderful memories with their friends! @emeadowschools

The STEM Lab has been buzzing with creativity! 3rd graders engineered a self driving car using little bits and electrical circuits! While Mrs. González's 5th graders have been little civil engineers holding the record for the longest cantilevered bridge! @emeadowschools

Our 5th Grade Field Day was a wonderful success! The weather was beautiful, making it the perfect day for students to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities and friendly competition, while parents watched from the sidelines and cheered on their children! Students had a great time participating in exciting events coordinated by our amazing physical education teachers, including potato sack races and the always-popular tug-of-war. One of the highlights of the day was watching Mrs. Sagnelli, our principal, and Mrs. Alfano, our assistant principal, join in the fun and take part in the tug-of-war alongside the students. Laughter, teamwork, and school spirit filled the air as everyone enjoyed this special day together. Fifth Grade Field Day was a memorable celebration of fun, friendship, and community for all!

Mrs. Hughes took advantage of the beautiful weather and conducted her kindergarten music class outside on the back lawn! @emeadowschools

Students had the best time at our most recent assembly, The Laugh Factory Comical Magic Show! They were amazed at the magic tricks and endlessly entertained with the incredible comic and magician! Thank you to our PTA for this amazing assembly! @emeadowschools

As part of their study of the human body, students in Ms. Carra and Ms. Kulikowski's 3rd grade class, examined the structure and functions of the skeletal, muscular, and nervous systems. Students learned about the senses of sight and hearing, and how the eyes and ears work!

It has been a busy and exciting time of year at school! Our 5th graders enjoyed a fun-filled trip to Adventureland, while our 3rd graders showcased their talents during their recorder concert and created beautiful butterfly projects. We also celebrated school spirit day too!

Our 3rd graders delivered an amazing recorder concert! Under the guidance of Ms. Hughes and Ms. Melish, students showcased their hard work and dedication. We are grateful to their teachers for inspiring a love of music and helping make this concert such a success! @emeadowschools

The Sky Dome Planetarium took our students on an unforgettable journey through the universe! The portable, inflatable planetarium dazzled our budding astronomers as they were taken on a tour of the solar system. As the students entered the dome, they were introduced to a "star-filled" sky. A navigator, with the use of a digital planetarium projector and a laser pointer, guided students through the stars of the Northern Hemisphere exactly as they appeared on the days of the presentations. Students learned how to identify every planet in our solar system in dramatic "flights" towards each world. They were introduced to Greek mythological characters and saw how these heroes of the past can be found in the stars. Students witnessed the night sky in different seasons and from different global perspectives. This assembly was truly "out of this world"! Thank you to our BW PTA for bringing the Sky Dome Planetarium to Barnum!

Our kindergartners put their creativity & problem-solving skills to work by creating RECYCLED ROBOTS! Using recyclable materials such as containers, cardboard, & paper, students designed unique robots while learning about recycling and caring for the environment! @emeadowschools
